Cannot connect to CarPlay

I have tried to connect a NWZ-S515 to my CarPlay system in my Astra with no sucess, is the unit not compatable due to it's age or has anyone a solution please.

The problem I am having is connecting my new Walkman NW-A35 to my Smart Car ForFour in-car system.

Anyone able to advise me.
