Can't charge TMR-BT10 (Bluetooth transmitter)

I bought an unused - in original sealed packaging - TMB-BT10 Bluetooth off a dealer on eBay. Tried to charge it tonight but with no apparent joy. The red indicator that according to the manual should be on when charging I don't see at all. Instead, I see a brief flash of the *blue* indicator as I place the unit in the charging cradle.

I know this is an old device, so for all I know it could have been on a shelf somewhere for 4 years. Is it likely I'm looking at a dead battery? That's my hunch. But any tips to get this sorted would be gratefully received!

[PS: I realise this is posted in Audio / Headphones, but there was no actually applicable sub-category for me to select!]

I am in exactly the same position but it was still new! Did you find out what happened?

Yes, it did transpire that the battery was the issue. The seller did the right thing, thankfully, without quibble. After an exchange of emails, I sent the unit back to him, and he returned it a couple of days later with a replacement battery installed. It's been charging and functioning fine ever since.

Definitely worth perservering with - this device has been working really well for me. I mainly use it for listening to tv on my headphones late at night or transmitting streaming Internet radio from my Android handset to an old (but good) ghetto blaster 😉
