topic In-Car Stalk Remote compatibility in Portable Audio

Hello, first post.

I was just wondering if the Sony in-car rotary commanders RMX-2S and RMX-4S are the same compaitibility wise. I'm looking to purchase one and am not sure of which I need. I have a Sony DAB6550 head unit and have already tried an RMX-1S which didn't work at all aside from a beep when I plugged the remote in. My head unit is compatible with the RMX-11M which I was using in my last van, but there is nowhere to put it in the new one without cutting a 50mm hole in a brand new dash, which is not an appealing idea!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Rich

Hi, the manual for the CDX-DAB6650 lists the RMS-4S as the compatible rotary commander. I am unsure if the RMX-2S & RMX-4S are compatibility the same, have you tried asking at a local car audio equipment specialist as I suspect they might have an idea.
