Question about sony mex bt5700u

Hi I was hoping if anyone else has. Had a problem with a static type of sound coming through the right hand channel of my Sony mexbt5700u,also ism trying to figure outif there was more than one type as mine doesnt have a pty button but the downloaded manual says it has butt I don't get station names only numbers.???? Thanks for any information

The only thing I wonder is if you have got hold of a model originating from somewhere like the USA - they don't have RDS in the States for example, but do have the BT5700 and it wouldn't have any RDS function buttons?

The static noise you have - is it only when the car is running by any chance? If so, it might be something like ignition interference. It is possible to get suppressors for this type of interference, but I'd recommend seeking out a local in-car specialist dealer and asking them to check it out for you if this is the case.
