WH-1000XM3 Power off / power on

I switch power on when I'm mowing the lawn. The NC function works well. Then after 10 minutes or so I hear 'power off' and I have to switch it back on again.

If I am in a room where someone is watching TV, I switch the power on and it never switches off, even if the person watching the TV switches off the TV and leaves the room.

I'm not trying to listen to music, I just want the noise of the mower cancelled.

What's going on?

If you connect them to a phone, you can go into the Sony headphones app and adjust the power saving features that also include "auto power off"

Not sure if I appreciate the need to download an app to adjust a power setting though ☹️
