EARC FOR AF9 Oled Tv upgrades planned for full implementation of HDMI 2.1

Having just purchased one of your excellent. AF9 OLED TVs are there any plans to upgrade earc to full capability at any point during the year. I have the new HZ 9 f sound bar to compliment my new tv and are there any plans to allow Dolby Atmos passthrough to the soundbar. As I am not sure what mode of earc Sony is currently using.

Hi Elaine,

Welcome to our community!

Sony has already released an update recently for your soundbar that added the eARC function to it. You'll find the announcement and how to update your soundbar here.

After the update, both your TV and soundbar would be supporting eARC and all you'll need to do then is to make sure you're connecting them using a high-quality HDMI cable with Ethernet to enable pass-through of high quality lossless audio formats.
