Selecting an FM station from the steering wheel

2009 Toyota Corolla with a Sony MEX-N5200BT

I thought that you could select a station from the steering whell once you pre set it on the stereo.

For instance, if I select 97.3 as the #1 pre set station and 92.7 as the #2 pre set station on the stereo.

Then when I listen to the #1 pre set station and then try to switch to the #2 pre set station from the steering wheel it seeks for a station instead of switching to the next pre set station.

Any ideas on this??
