When did a robot last mange to sign in on the website? Trying to prove you are not a robot is ridiculous.

by letting (ro)bots from a hacker(/groups) (ro)bot network get no further than the login, you can take load off the servers, ensuring the community runs as smooth as it should.

Sony websites (and presumably other companies websites) are currently suffering heavy cyber attacks, which is the sole reason for the annoying log-in process.
