Noise cancelling items

Can somebody please help me! I'm off work recovering from an illness and need a lot of sleep. But the house attached to my semi has just started extensive building work. I bought the Sony WF-1000XM3 but they don't seem to even block out their talking let alone the drilling, hammering, electric sawing. Is there anything that will? Should I have got over the ear headphones instead of in ear? I dont want to play music as I want to sleep so just have them set to ambient at the highest level. Can anyone reccomend a product that would completely block out noise? Thanks

Hello @Helpmeplease19,

make sure to deactivate the ambient sound control and play some audio on the headphones (maybe rain sounds or something comparable), since NC works best if you're playing audio.

Thanks but I can't sleep with rain sounds or anything. I just need something that block out noise. Maybe ear defenders?
