no network icon when data roaming

when roaming， the internet connection was fine，just no network icon (LTE，H+，4G，3G)show up，only “R” on the signal，don't known what type network you are using，am i setting wrong？

I'm afraid there's no working around this. that's how stock Android indicators deal with roaming, for some reason.

This is not true at all, all phone i am using are showing me what kind of connection i habe while in Roaming and not only a simple R!!!! Sorry but i guess it is really important to know of i am running on 4G or 3G speed..

This is the first time i see something like that and its not the way Android deal with it at all..so do not INVENT answer we are not DUMB!

NEXUS OR PIXEL ,also shows connection icons while in Roaming , these are Android stock experience phones!!!

Sort it out please

Previously, it was impossible to see what type of data connection (LTE, H, 3G, E, etc.) you were on if you were roaming, as the 'R' indicator would take those indicators' place above the signal bars. and I'm afraid XZ Premium counts as "previously" here.

I am a tour guide who roaming all the time and I have this problem too. I really need to know what type of data connection I am using .Because there is no such display, I don't even know I connected to the Internet or not ? Sometimes afraid of missing mail and impoartant message from chat app . Every time open the browser to test the internet.........
