Having done this for many many years, ever since Sony started offering updates, I have never had a problem. If you don't feel confident, probably best to wait and brick the TV in a months time 😀

I have a Sony KD-48A9 OLED TV. I have just been informed by the Sony Support app that a new software update was released on the 12th February, 2025. I am always nervous about TV updates and wonder if anyone has downloaded this update yet. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

As the update was only released three days ago you aren't giving anyone any time to assess if the update is causing problems.

Keep an eye on the pages here to see if anyone is reporting issues with it.

When I get notification of updates for my TV I wait about a month before installing it to make sure the update isn't

creating more issues than it claims to resolve. Sony has a recent history of providing duff updates.

Here is a link to information about the download,

https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/oled-tvs-android-a9_a9s-series/kd-48a9/software/00351154

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I will take your advice and wait a month before installing the update and will also keep an eye on the Community pages. Your help is very much appreciated.
