My Sony Bravia has functioned pretty perfectly for the last 8 years. But the last Android auto update has bricked the TV. I took it to a local repair shop and they confirmed that the motherboard has been broken by the update. The TV is well out of warranty, and a replacement part has been quoted at £185, but replacing it would apparently remove the ability to use Netflix. So perhaps not worth even considering. But I’d say Sony were entirely responsible for this part breaking. It should have lasted years more. Please can someone from Sony comment/help?

Vital stats:

- Purchased 21st November 2016 for £629 from John Lewis.
- Serial number 6702295.
