Existance of 55" Sony Bravia 9 TV ?

Hi

A quick question before I have to buy a UK Sony Bravia 7......

Am I right in thinking that there is no such model as a UK 55" Sony Bravia 9?

I am aware that there may be different configurations between countries, and I dont know whether such a TV has never been produced or it is out of stock.
Can anyone give an informed authorative answer please?

There doesn’t seem to be a 9 (yet?) but there is a Bravia 8 at least, so why settle for a 7?

Now the only question for me is shall I get a 55" Bravia 7, or hang on until June next year just hoping that a 2025 Bravia 9 would be available in 55".....🤔

Good question.
Excuse my briefness.

I recognise the better quality of the Oled models but my main criteria is to handle long periods of the TV being left on a station each day.
I'm not into hero worship of a particular technology, and I'm not jumping on any bandwagon and I'm happy to listen to good informed explanations - particularly from engineers. In particular, I am not saying Oleds are bad, far from it, just that I think the circumstances of my intended use might favour a choice of the Bravia 9 or 7 in a 55" size. Trouble is, the 9 does not come in a 55" size.

Although my opinion is influenced by different things, to give you a brief flavour or answer, I currently would mention two areas that matter that I've thought about and discussed over a long while:

Comparatively, although poorer quality than OLED, there's probably a slightly better chance of retaining picture quality over the years of use - e.g. colour, if using non OLED organic source.
Comparatively, although poorer quality than OLED, there's probably a better chance of Mini LED minimising any burn in issues - since it definately will be subject to prolonged daily use on News channels - or displaying the static main AppleTV menu .

These things are not fixed in stone but are a couple of elements that I need to consider.

If you click the little gear wheel top right on a posting you have recently made, it will include an Edit option you can use.

This option goes away once the ink on your posting has fully dried 😛
