So this may have been asked/answered previously but I couldn't find a directly related answer....

Whenever I play video files via the Android TV stock video app the embedded subtitles are automatically displayed. I've checked Settings -> Channel Setup -> Digital Setup -> Subtitle Setup and its off (although preferred languges are set). When I press the closed caption button it has "off" already selected (but subtitles are still showing) and I have to first select a language, then go back into closed caption settings and select "off" to finally get the subtitles removed.

Weird behaviour.... don't think its the video renderer as that only supports .srt files.

Any ideas?

and I noticed a problem that I do not mind.
I watch movies after a ssd of 512 g taken after the torr .... etc with all the subs.
Before oreo, all the titrations were going, after about half an hour, half of them showed strange characters with squares cut diagonally.
I went to look for TV on the net and find it but it looks like it.
what setting do I have to do there at subtitle properties ???
